How we file and check our reports

Every report in Nigeria Casino follows the same documented process, from the choice of question to the date printed on the report. This page sets it out, including the parts done by software.

How do we choose what to write about?

Topics come from search demand data: the questions Nigerian punters actually put to search engines, such as whether betting is legal in their state, who licenses a lotto company or what the SEC says about crypto. We pick the question first, then find the law, judgment or notice that answers it.

Where do the facts come from?

From primary documents, not from other betting blogs or forum threads. For our beats that usually means:

  • Court judgments. Above all the Supreme Court's November 2024 judgment on who regulates lotteries and gaming, and any later rulings that apply it.
  • Statutes and state laws. Federal Acts such as the National Lottery Act and the Investments and Securities Act 2025, and state gaming laws.
  • Regulators. Notices, registers and guidelines from the bodies that decide each question: state gaming boards such as the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority, the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Central Bank of Nigeria.
  • Operators' own terms. The betting and lottery companies' published game rules, payment pages and bonus terms, for how a ticket pays or how a deposit works.
  • Official figures. Published statistics and tax rules where a report needs a number.

Each claim in a report links to where it was found, and reports written under this process close on the list headed "Filed from these sources". Reports filed before the paper worked this way carry no source list.

How are reports drafted?

Drafts are written with the help of AI writing tools, working to a brief and to the material gathered for that report. Nothing goes into the copy that the material does not support. Worked examples, such as the odds of a 5/90 ticket or a naira stake converted to USDT, are arithmetic that anyone can repeat.

What is checked before a report is filed?

Automated checks run on every report before it is filed. They look for a source behind each claim, test that links work, and compare the figures and dates in the report against its sources. A report that fails is held back until it passes. We do not claim human expert or legal review, and no report claims the paper placed a bet, opened an account or cashed out a bonus.

How do corrections work?

If you spot something wrong, tell us through our contact form. When a fact is wrong we fix it, and a report that changes in substance prints an Updated line with the date.

How do updates work?

Nigerian gaming and crypto rules are moving fast. When a law, a judgment or a regulator's notice we relied on changes, we update the report and the date with it.

What we do not do

We do not give legal or investment advice, sell tips or promise wins, and a commission never changes what a report says about the law.
